| Today's the day that I turn it high gear and crank it out. There's been something each day this week that has made it seem more real each day; that's been kind of cool. I had a hard time getting to sleep last night. Guess I'm wound kind of tight at this point. While we're there, we hope to be near internet cafes fairly regularly. This will depend on whether or not we'll be in a city or not, but we've decided that we're going to up update on the Journey blog, so starting Monday, go to www.ourjourneycommunity.org and click on blog and then GO or lead_follower to see if we've updated. Tuesday is our appointment, and we found out in our travel meeting that they do actually set a few different profiles in front of us and have us choose which we think we'd like to meet. How many profiles just depends on children fit what we requested, which is boy or girl, 14-24 months. 14 months because that's the youngest you can adopt. 24 because we want to maintain the birth order. So they could set one profile in front of us or four, and we'll have about half an hour to look them over and see if we feel that any of them are our child. Pleas pray that God will make this so clear to us! | | |
| Today was my last day of work for a while. We're headed to Cinci Saturday afternoon so we don't have to worry about trying to get to the airport Sunday morning from Findlay. So I have two more days here to get all of our stuff packed and make sure everything is the way it needs to be. I can't believe it's almost here!!!!! | | |
| Yep, just 15 little days, and we're in an airplane, on our way, after almost two full years of waiting. Pretty exciting. Lots to do yet before then. We just have to be...very organized. Our life has been pretty crazy the last couple of months, so the last couple of days have been great for resting and having some family time. I've had Wednesday, Thursday, AND Friday off, and I feel ready to get cracking now. So I'm hoping to have an extremely productive Saturday. I need to make a plan, and then start work my way down the list. I think it became really real when we bought the plane tickets. Emma is so excited. I don't think she really remembers a time when we weren't talking about adopting. She's convinced it's a sister; we keep reminding her we need to be open to what God has planned for us. And we have to start thinking about names! If it's something that has an English equivalent, we'll probably just keep that; if it's something that can't be pronounced, then we need to come up with something. Pressure! Somebody thought Aaron sounded fun and powerful . Feel free to throw out ideas if you have any. | | |
| Yep, that's when we're going to Ukraine. Woohoo!!! | | |

Okay, so today, Thursday, is not her birthday, but most likely it will be by the time you're reading this. Friday the 27th, Emma Grace is 4 years old, yes, 4 years old. It's been such a quick 4 years! And fun. Don't ever be afraid of having kids. I'm not sure why they leave out when talking about how kids cramp your style and steal your freedom that they are so much fun! This week has been pretty great. Life is busy--about 5 hours of sleep a night lately to get everything in--but I spent some time with Lisa this week, and Emily called me (so great to chat!), and now my folks are out for the weekend, complete with Lacey and Zach who didn't have school Thurs-Fri. House full! But I really enjoy it. It's so great to have friends and family like that. | | |
